Cultural cloths are an important identify marker and folk tradition among the Kriang or Nge people of southern Laos. Culturally, the are used to record and preserve stories of the culture. They also serve a functional purpose as blankets, wall hanging, or room separators. They are handwoven on a back strap loom using thick, hand-spun cotton.
